Job Function: Production/Manufacturing/Maintenance/Packaging Industry: Construction/Cement/Metal/Steel/Iron Qualification: School & Graduation - Others -STEEL FIXER (Others -STEEL FIXER) Building, aligning, installing and repairing steel and metal in frames and support structures is the main job of a steel fixer. He works on all sizes and types of projects, from ornamental gates and balconies to beams and girders on skyscrapers and bridges, Working with prefabricated steel as well as creating necessary pieces through welding, riveting or bolting together pieces of steel.
Proficiency is required in using large and small hand tools including cables, crowbars, wedges and jacks. Expertise in welding and soldering is necessary. Math skills are needed to calculate angles and tolerances.
Experience in steel construction or repair is desirable, Knowledge in reading blueprints and schematics is helpful.
