1.Ensure all the product loadings are per the quantity, the quality and the time schedule. Also ensure all the blendings are carried out per the required quality but without give-a-way. Ensure implementation and follow-up of the guidelines given by Process Engineers.
2. Release Work Permits and ensure the conditions are achieved. Report and do the first level of investigation of incidents/accidents in Area 8.
3.Participate in the risk analysis for any unusual operational or maintenance activities.
4. Carryout regular field inspections within Area 8 to monitor and maintain adequate housekeeping, identify and eliminate unsafe conditions, control the strict application of the work permit procedure, and ensure the correct disposal of waste. Monitor that PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) is being used correctly in Area 8.
5.Recommend changes to improve operating procedures and equipment care.
6. Prepare monthly recap of log sheet and other related information, and prepare a brief daily morning report of operations.
7.Control the permanent minimization of flare, waste production and the quality of the waste water sent to API.
8. Ensure the correct chemicals are being used and that staff understand the hazards and risks.
9.Control the completion of periodic surveys and testing programs of equipment/devices related with Safety and Environmental Protection.
10. Control the strict application of the Area 8 control access procedure and assume security of Area 8 by prohibiting entrance of unauthorized persons.
11.Ensure production in quality and quantity according to scheduling instructions. Ensure implementation and follow-up of the guidelines given by Process Engineers.
12. Supervise the operation of the plant and equipment according to daily operation instructions and permanent operation procedures. Communicate any change of procedures/standards to subordinates. Also supervise the critical operational activities such as start-up, shutdown and provide technical support to Boardman, field ISBL leader operator during these activities.
13.Validate maintenance notifications. Validate the shift report.
14. Ensure proper coordination with other areas, the shift Superintendent and Shift Supervisors regarding all activities which may affect the operations of Area 8 or any activities conducted by Area 8 which may impact the work of other areas/others.
15.Ensure availability of materials of Area 8.
16. Responsible for the time schedule to ensure the minimum permanent staffing. Monitor performance of staff and carryout annual appraisals. Propose and follow -up on training of staff. Participate in the operator certification process.
17.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent Offsite.
