Supervises and controls the activities of assigned personnel including allocating work and determining priorities. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial / authority at section head level as established by General Management. Review and endorses contractor’s invoices. Supervises a team of Engineers responsible for the designing of all rigless operations and well service programs for pre-drilling, post drilling operation and problematic wells. Supervises the implementation of rigless well programs to ensure adherence to barge(s) contracts terms and conditions. Prepares AFE and ensures cost effective achievement of technical objectives. Supervises the test results during the evaluation stages and amends tasting procedures accordingly.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Prepares required service order to cover non contracted services charges and checks and approves invoices related to work carried on Barge(s) and ensures compliance with company’s financial procedures.
• Evaluates services companies’ performance and recommends adequate remedial actions. Reviews the daily rigless operation reports, confirm codes, and discusses the completed operations with the company barge supervisor and discuss the following operations plan with the concerned parties.
• Verifies and approve the barge requirements for equipment, material and service hand personnel before raising the request from. Delegates’ special assignment related to barge supervisor e.g. checks special connection on wellhead tower, investigating certain requirements.
• Discuss operations problems / improvements and communicates results to concerned personnel. Coordinates with other groups in Drilling / Support business unit. The company fields asset units, corporate planning div and develops barge(s) bar chart program to ensure proper barge(s) utilization for rigless operation. Participates in the investigation and reporting of major accidents and high potential incidents and makes necessary recommendations or improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Investigates and reports of major accident and high potential incident ad make necessary recommendation for improvement and avoiding suck problems. Ensures strict adherence to company safety standards and procedures by employee and contractors. Carries frequent visits to barge(s) for group safety meeting, self inspection and self auditing to ensure all the equipment and unit are properly maintained. Implements and maintains HSE program. Conducts risk assessment and prepares special procedure for non routine operations and activities.
• Assigns and directs certain tasks to well engineers for further investigation and ensures receiving feedback.
• Reviews rigless operation instruction and amends detailed instruction in consultation with the team leader. Establishes standard programs / procedures for all routine pre drilling, post drilling and well services activities. Prepare special programs and running procedures for non standard well services operations and for new products and/or new equipment/tools and or new techniques/methods. Follow-up operations on trial basis, discuss issues/problems with service companies, evaluate performance and make appropriate recommendations.
• Coordinates with the company fields assets units and provides equipment/personnel support for offshore operations, for pre drilling, post drilling and problematic wells rigless operations.
• Conducts frequent site visit to the barge(s) for group safety meetings self inspection and self auditing to ensure plan and equipment are properly maintained.
• Prepares / supervises preparations and budgets and other specific reports, statistics, attending technical meetings, giving presentations. Evaluates service company’s bids / offer and ensures conformity with the company approved standards and specifications. Participates in preparing Tender and Contracts.
• Develops Barge(s) DS’s work/leave rotation schedule and ensure covers of 24 hours operations. Prepares / arranges and follow up Barge(s) safety training and assures compliance with the companys’ safety/technical requirements.
• Maintains operation safety meetings to review and discuss barge(s) operation and safety issues and make necessary recommendation for improvement to avoid any problems. Ensures strict adherence to company safety standards and procedures by employee and contractors. Visits to the barge(s) for group safety meeting to ensure all the equipment and unit are properly maintained. Participates on conducting risks assessment and prepare special procedure for non routine operations and activities.
• Initiates and conduct necessary studies on well services technology, equipment, products and methods. Follow-ups and review studies carried out by subordinates derive conclusions. Provides appropriate recommendations to improve well services operations for management review and approval.
• Coordinates with close an constant with service companies engineers, barge provider and representatives keeps abreast with recent developments of new well services technology/equipment/product/methods, conduct studies on adaptability to the company’s’ operations and makes appropriate recommendations.
• Prepares AFE and optimization of the expenditure in order to achieve cost effectiveness. Prepares the barge orientation diagram in order to optimize the barge(s) approach on offshore towers. Evaluates service companies’ performance and prepares the contract evaluation report. Reviews rigless well operation work summary and issue same to finance and engineering in monthly basis for cost allocation and for performance evaluation.
• Coordinates with close contacts with the company’s field asset units, logistics, corporate planning Div, barge(s) provider and develops & issue barge(s) bar chart program to achieve proper and cost effective barge9s) utilization.
• Directs and supervise the rigless activities on the barge(s) for assigned personnel in the section. Performs supervisory functions a section head level as established by general management.
• Reviews well date sheet received from asset units. Discuss broad work out lines with rigless operation engineers, define the work planned, request special investigation including alternative plan, modifies the work plan to acquire cost effective means, review and amends the detailed rigless operation instructions as necessary.
• Guides, directs and supervise subordinated to ensure they work to their best potential and contribute effectively as a team and provide full support to barge(s) DS’s during important rigless operations.
Communications & Organizational Relationships:
• Daily contacts with other group in the company’s Drilling Div. field’s assets units and logistics up to team leader level to discuss and finalize work activities and to update the rig candidate well activity to update / amend the rigless operation bar chart planned program priority order.
• Daily contacts with work associates up to drilling ops section leader / drilling engineering section leader and Mud & Cement engineer section leader to discuss daily work programs and developing forthcoming ones and collect date about wells/fields.
• Frequent contacts with drilling administration and service coordinator and personnel in stores / supply base / drilling & commercial divisions to ensure adequate supply of equipment and material on the barge.
• Frequent contact with barge(s) contractor(s) to ensure adherence to terms of contract and follow up work progress.
• Frequent contacts with senior engineers in other divisions (Field asset units) for exchanging information / expertise and consultation and organizing task force on specific joint studies for any rigless well services operations.
• Frequent contacts with service companies for evaluation new products / techniques available in the market and to ensure adherence to terms of contract and follow up work progress.
• Completed work is subjected to general review by supervisors.
