Job Description Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design, implement and maintain Local Area Network computing Infrastructure at all MIS locations. Troubleshoot network problems and perform systems management tasks such as backups, file management, user management and security analysis.
• Prepare and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan to cover provision of continuous information management services. Ensure than all correct backup/recovery procedures are out in place. Implement virus protection measures on the network to protect Company Data and maintain spare hardware to carry out 'Hot swops' during hardware failure.
• Work as part of a team of IT Infrastructure Services 2nd level support for all IT related support requests.
• Provide advanced IT technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills for systems, Servers on various platforms, mostly Windows Operating systems.
• Install and maintain all hardware and software for file servers, mail system, remote access servers and web servers.
• Work with the telecommunications team in investigating and implementing appropriate new technologies.
• Maintain detailed inventories for all networks and software inventory for license compliance.
• Maintain Antivirus Servers, Data Backups retention, Exchange mailboxes and email archiving, Active directory, Patch Management, and Storage capacity Management.
• Provide expertise in a range of business and technical applications.
• Maintain inventory of computer equipment, applications and accessories.
• Maintain the active directory and end-user system access current according to company policies.
• Participate in the configuration and deployment of Symantec Vault Email Archiving Solution, and the maintenance of the system thereafter.
• Administer application security and liaise with Network Analysts.
• Administer software licensing and application support contracts.
• Track and manage the progress of customer support issues from initial capture to resolution using the available tools.
• Develop and maintain a current Knowledge Base of known issues and solutions to fully leverage team experience and best practice.
• Provide guidance, training and leadership to other junior members of the IM Service desk team and external contractors.
